gff

gff is an independent film and television production company based in Cologne and Munich. The company was founded in 1982 by the Oscar®-nominated author, director and producer Hans W. Geißendörfer.

We develop and produce fictional formats for cinema and television with the aim of creating unique entertainment that gives the audience an intense and lasting viewing experience. Character, story and a narrator with a personal and urgent concern are particularly close to our hearts.

Besides a multitude of German and international productions ranging from mainstream to arthouse, and having won many awards (including the Golden Palm, the German Film Award and the Grimme Prize), the Weekly ARD series LINDENSTRASSE (1985 – 2019) with 1,758 episodes is our best-known product.

Our current development slate covers all genres, from post-apocalyptic sci-fi to sophisticated family entertainment and daring thrillers, and includes series, feature films and TV dramas for national and international audiences.

All the stories in our portfolio are stories that we enjoy watching ourselves because they touch us and carry us off into new, unseen worlds.
We like challenging projects and like to work with young talents with strong handwriting who sometimes have a hard time – but are worth hearing.
